Today marks the end of the program and I cannot help but feel beyond blessed for the entire experience. Trujillo is such an amazing place and will forever have a special place in my heart. I have created relationships with my host family, fellow classmates, locals, professors, and other travelers across the world. I encourage future students to immerse themselves in the culture as much as they can. Don’t travel every weekend, take time to get to know your city, your family, the local shops and people. Trujillo is so unique in that there are always new places to explore. If you like running or walking, there are countless trails with the most incredible views. My study abroad experience has allowed me to improve my Spanish language and social skills. In my future career, I will be able to utilize both of these skill sets to my advantage. Being able to speak two languages already puts me ahead, but also my ability to converse intellectually and comfortably. Before my arrival in Spain, I wrote down a few goals for myself that I wanted to accomplish during this semester. I am proud to say that I have successfully achieved my desired goals, one of which was making all A’s. I am officially graduating and it was important to me to finish my undergrad strong. Studying abroad has changed me for the better. I do not know exactly what I want to do with my life yet, but I do know that I love Spain and I love learning the language. Whatever I decide to do in the future, I want to make sure I prioritize my passion for traveling and the Spanish language in my life. If I could, I would study abroad every semester. Since I am graduating, I cannot do so, however, I am interested in either interning or working abroad. If the opportunity arises, I will 100% do it. This was an experience of a lifetime and I hope other students decide to take a chance on Trujillo.
