September is gone and so is October. The weeks are flying by and school work is piling up. October was a busy busy month. One of the highlights of October was the weeklong Andalucia trip. Andalucia is the autonomous community located south of Trujillo that has three of the most important historical cities in Spain; Cordoba, Sevilla, and Granada.
The first stop was Córdoba. When we arrived we visited Córdobas Mosque-Cathedral. It is one of the most beautiful moorish mosques in Spain with its architecture. It is full of arches and history of two different religions. The next day we visited the ancient city of Medina Azahar which is about 20 minutes away from Cordoba. The Medina Azahar is an archeological site still being excavated today and is known as Caliphate City of Medina Cordoba. It’s still relatively unknown but definitely worth a visit.
The second stop was Granada. Granada is such a beautiful city but it’s mostly known for the Alhambra. The Alhambra is one of Spain most famous palaces and fortress. It is filled with hundred of years of history, beautiful architecture, greenery and cats. I was mind blown with how beautiful the Alhambra is. It’s definitely a place that I would love to go back and visit because I know that we did not get to see everything.
The last stop was Sevilla. Sevilla is another city that I fell in love with. It’s full of monuments and palaces but it’s modern and fun. One of the highlights was getting a tour inside the Cathedral of Sevilla which is really hard to do. It was very interesting to see the different parts of the cathedral that we usually don’t see.
After coming back from this trip the time passed by quickly. And before we knew it November was here and it was time to start getting ready to go back which I’m not sure I’m ready.
