Hola, my name is Lesly Endara, I am an upcoming Senior in Computing in the Arts as my major. I will be studying in Trujillo this Summer in the 2023 Trujillo Summer II Program, I was excited to see this program being offered by the CSCI department since the program fulfills one of my requirements for my major as well as my dream of studying abroad, now that my senior year is approaching I thought i had missed my chance to study abroad so hearing about this chance felt unreal. The final part that sealed the deal for me was the location. Since I am a native Spanish speaker, I can do an internship in Spain in my field of technology, which will allow me to improve my resume for the future as well. For my blogs I plan to reflect on the cultural similarities and differences between Spain, Ecuador, and America; I also want to use these blogs as an opportunity to appreciate the beautiful sites I will encounter.
During my time abroad I want to learn about Spaniard culture and lifestyles and see which aspects of it I could apply to my life here. I know that the mindset in Europe is more “work to live” instead of “live to work” which is the American mindset. I also hope to gain more experience in my field of computing and am hoping for a great learning experience at SolarDrones. I have also looked up amazing restaurants I want to try out around the area. The week before and after the program starts, I am also planning on visiting my aunt in Madrid giving me more time to explore the city. While in Spain I also want to enjoy many different types of food. I have always loved trying new dishes from multiple cultures, and I don’t really know much about Spaniard dishes, but I’ve heard about how delicious their dishes are. If you’ve read this far, you’re a trooper, and I hope my future blogs delight you.
Hasta luego
