When I landed all my nerves melted away. From the very beginning everyone I have met has been so lovely. All the greenery here is incredible. You can see the mountains from our hotel by the Dublin Airport. It is so refreshing and nice that Dublin (big city) has so many parks that are expansive and nothing but nature and benches. We have done many hikes so far. We hiked all the way around Lough Hyne with the guide Terri. We got over one of the hills and of a sudden there was these spectacular cliffs over looking the most mind blowing blue sea. It was so beautiful I got bit choked up. On another hike we did I had a magical moment of peace between a baby black eagle in its nest on the side of a cliff edge on a hill/mountain we hiked up. I found a piece of oxidized copper one the hike back down from the Achill Copper Mine which was a really cool find especially since if I hadn’t been doing as good archaeologists do by looking down every now and then I wouldn’t have spotted it. I am loving all of this hiking and amazing views that come with it as well as the history and great people we are meeting along the way. It feels like I am amongst kindred spirits on familial lands.
