Hello! My name is Raven Jameson and I am a rising junior here at the College. I am a biology major with a Spanish minor. This summer I am participating in Summer Session 1 in Trujillo, Spain. I chose this program because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and become more comfortable speaking with others in Spanish. Upon arrival, the CIE provided me with a bunch of resources to help prepare me for life abroad. I researched various topics including dining etiquette, phrases to use with my host family, and packing recommendations. I am excited to explore the country of Spain and am looking forward to improving my second language. The courses I am taking abroad include Special Topics in Hispanic Cultures and the Study of Spanish Language Aboard with the wonderful professors Dr. Sarah Owens and Dr. Nadia Avendaño! They have definitely calmed my nerves about being aboard and I can’t wait to learn and meet new people.
