I have been in Scotland for a week now, and this country has blown me away. This is by far the most beautiful place I have ever been. The cities are so historic and beautiful. Even just going out to grab dinner, you feel like you are walking through history. Despite, how wonderful the city is, no trip to Scotland would be complete without visiting the highlands. I had the amazing opportunity to tour the highlands with a couple of friends of mine, Lucy and Jaccie. We woke up bright and early to catch our bus at 8:00 in the morning, in Glasgow. After a quick breakfast from Greggs (where I tried my first sausage roll), we loaded into the mini-bus with some other American students from California and went on our way. It was a long day with many stops, but it was so worth it. My favorite part has got to be stopping outside of Glencoe at the Three Sisters. The views were absolutely breathtaking. From there we made our way north, where we eventually stopped in the famous Loch Ness. While I, unfortunately, did not catch a glimpse of Nessie, I did get to explore the town itself, which is an adorable sight. It’s definitely a bit touristy but it was still a lot of fun. On our way back down to Glasgow, we drove through Cairngorm National Park (I accidentally slept through this part oops) and stopped at a rest stop where I got to see some Highland Cows. This unlocked a new obsession for me and I am now a Highland cow fanatic haha. I even purchased a stuffed Highland cow which I named Angus. By the time we got back, it was around 7:00 in the evening, and we were all exhausted. If any of you are ever in Scotland, please take my advice and explore the Highlands- you will not regret it.
