My Top Places to Study and Grab a Coffee in Florence! by Kalie Henderson

In Charleston, I have my to-go coffee shops and study spots. While studying abroad in Italy this semester I was determined to find some cafes that I could frequent. After about two months of living in Florence, I’ve found some of my favorite cafes! Here are my top cafés and study spots in Florence, Italy.

  1. La Milkeria

La Milkeria is the perfect spot to grab a quick coffee or bite to eat between classes! Only a three minute walk from the Duomo, this café has the closet I’ve found to American Iced Coffee. They also have food options as well such as crepes, waffles and ice cream.

  1. La Ménagère

La Ménagère is a chic, beautiful café relatively close to the Duomo! They have a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu as well as more typical café options. The space is open and beautifully decorated with an area where you can make your own flower boutique. They have a lot of tables and different areas to sit and study. I love to grab a cappuccino and work on homework here in the mornings during weekdays when it is less busy!

  1. Todo Modo

This local bookstore has a café inside and is the perfect place to study. The space is filled with lively plants and tons of books. Todo Modo has some different seating options from bigger tables to singular desks for working on homework. This bookstore is a short walk from the Ponte Vecchio and is a quiet place to get some work done.

  1. Caffè Gilli

The Gilli is the oldest café in Florence and its current location is in Piazza della Repubblica. This charming spot is the perfect place to grab a quick cappuccino to go and it’s my favorite place to get coffee in Florence! Located near my study abroad program’s classrooms, you can typically find me there before class. Make sure to try their pastries as well!
