7 September 2021 – What I Learned Today

I am narrowing in on the measures I want to examine with mindfulness. I have found that there are several papers looking at mindfulness and time preferences, but all have significant drawbacks, which I think I can address.

    1. Torres Esparza’s paper is methodologically sound, but she was not able to collect much data. I will likely use a lot of her methodology.
    2. Annetta’s paper uses an idiosyncratic risk measure, and also has very few participants.
    3. The paper on adolescents doesn’t find a direct effect, probably because few of the participants (all adolescents) actively meditate.

Rose: Good bike ride this morning, fun reading some mindfulness research

Bud: More mindfulness research tomorrow

Thorn: OAKS quizzes reset was not intuitive!
