What is E-Procurement?
E-Procurement is a component of the College of Charleston’s BATTERY Project. E-Procure is an online system that allows users to purchase products and services from vendors. The system went into effect on September 1, 2011.
The main benefit of the online procurement system is the time savings associated with requests. The user-friendly system enables users to submit requests from their computers/workstations. The requests are transmitted electronically through the approval process, significantly reducing the time previously associated with paper requests. The system also reduces the amount of errors that typically occur with paper requests.
E-Procure may be used to requisition a purchase order. It also serves as a payment method using a state-issued Purchasing Card.
The E-Procurement Process
In order for your department to be able to place orders, a signature authorization form must be completed for each index that your department uses. The forms can be found on the Forms and Procedures section of Procurement’s web page.
E-Procure is a single sign-in system, accessed from MyCharleston. It is then located in the Procurement Quick Links box, found in either the Employee tab or Finance tab.
