Our program is based on Engineering is Elementary, the nation’s leading engineering curriculum for grades 1-5. Developed by the Museum of Science Boston, it has been rigorously researched and classroom-tested.
EiE is expressly designed to help young children develop positive associations with engineering and sciences- to see them as being integral to modern life, and also potential career paths.
Beyond introducing children to engineering content and careers, EiE teaches the engineering design process. Through this simple 5-step process of Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, and Improve students build and hone 21st Century skills.
There are 20 different EiE curricular units. Each unit addresses a different field of engineering (for example mechanical or electrical engineering) and links to related science topics commonly taught in the elementary grades.
