NEED HELP? APPLY FOR STUDENT EMERGENCY FUNDS
In close partnership with the Division of Institutional Advancement, CofC alumni, parents, friends and community partners have stepped forward and collectively contributed more than $50,000 (and counting!) for our Student Emergency Fund. These resources will be directed specifically to support our students in this time of need.
The Division of Student Affairs is accepting applications for student emergency funding. You may apply for support via the following link on the Student Affairs website (see button below). Applications will be reviewed and will be turned around as quickly as possible. Need considerations include: food, medical, and basic household needs; housing and rent; transportation; academic needs (books, school supplies, e-learning support, technology).
Additional funds are available for LGBTQ+ students through the Campaign for Southern Equality. Any LGBTQ+ Southerner in need of emergency assistance can complete a grant-based application process for up to $100.
Additional Aid: Charleston Area United COVID Response
This group was recently formed to coordinate efforts to meet the needs of all of our neighbors during the current health crisis of COVID-19. Together, we can and will serve our community to the best of our abilities. This is a volunteer-led group and is not tied to any organization. A note that although this is a robust effort led by and for the community, we still have limited financial and physical capabilities when it comes to fulfilling all of the needs of our people. This is grassroots organizing at it’s finest!
