Come On in the Room: Afrofuturism as a Path to Black Women’s Healing
February 9 – Come On in the Room: Afrofuturism as a Path to Black Women’s Healing – Redux Contemporary Art Studio from 6:00-8:00pm – As a Cultural History Interpreter, Sara Daise’s writing and presentations connect past, present, and future in applicable, healing, and liberating ways. Her research and praxis include Gullah Geechee women, Womanism, Black Feminism, Afrofuturism, sexual freedom, Black affirmations, and the power to imagine and manifest better worlds. Her work reminds us that “those presenting history that applies to real-world issues can only benefit from non-linear, decolonized, inclusive, humanizing perspectives.”
Join us as we bring Sara’s inimitable and timely creative thesis on Afrofuturism as a path to Black Women’s Healing off the page and into the heart of community with a live panel discussion, multi-media presentation, and dialogue with our audience at Redux Contemporary Art Studio on Saturday, February 9, from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm.
Reserve your seat via Eventbrite. (Flyer attached)
