TONIGHT! MONDAY, February 11 – Spring 2019 African American Studies Film Festival Screening: Beasts of the Southern Wild – 6:00PM, ECTR 118This semester’s festival theme takes us from Los Angeles and the flooded Gulf Coast to outer space and Wakanda, all of which envision futures centered on the peoples and cultures of Africa and the Diaspora. The screenings are open to the public and will have free popcorn and refreshments, and each screening will be followed by discussions of the film led by AAST faculty. Tonight’s post-film discussion of Beasts of the Southern Wild will be led by Lisa Young.
